One of my all time favorite Mexican restaurants is Rock of the Sea. I'm really happy to see they have a website now with their specials listed! They've got great lunch deals for $6.99 and a new Taco Bar during lunch fo $8.99. You get to make your own tostada, taco salad, burritos, tacos.... whatever and however you like. I can't wait to try this one, here's the post:

Rainy Days

I love the rain, and this weather made me think of my favorite hot comfort food - soup! I love all soups, but ramen style soups are my favorite. Try a bowl of Saimin at Aloha Island Grille today (or any day) for only $5.95. Saimin is ramen style noodles, in hot broth with mushrooms, cabbage, hard boiled egg & a fishcake plus your choice of Teriyaki, Chicken, Beef, Spam, Prawns or Veggies. I just heard about this great event, Restaurant Week starting October 1st. It's 8 days of great deals, here's an excerpt from the site:

Reservations Recomended

There are just a few days left before the October 1 kickoff of Santa Cruz County’s inaugural restaurant week. Eight days of great eating at the best restaurants here for only $25 per person. With three courses — appetizer, entrée and dessert — at a price like this, Santa Cruzans will be eating better than they ever could before.

Restaurants will be extra busy, so please call as early as possible to make a reservation. You don’t want to be disappointed when your favorite restaurant fills up on the night you wanted to sample their Restaurant Week menu.

And don’t forget to tip. Service personnel will be working extra hard this week, and gratuity, beverage and California sales tax are not included.

Sometimes you just don't want to cook breakfast. But breakfast restaurants, let alone deals, are a lot less common than lunch or dinner. Here are the 2 places I know of serving up a deal for breakfast on Mondays:

Coming soon

Hang in there! I know I've been pretty absent lately, but I have a lot of deals lined up to put on the site (thanks Michelle!). Here's why I've been MIA, Monday through Friday sites are updated in the drop down menu form. A lot of people have said they really like this new style, thanks! I think it will help look at the info easier, and load the pages faster! Thanks again for all the input and positive feedback, keep those deals coming. I hope you are all enjoying your summer!

A New Way

Finally! Though I'm not finished updating ALL the pages, the new style is so convenient and easy to use that I couldn't wait anymore to switch the pages over that I have done. So far, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are finished. Now, when you click a day from this page, you will go to the new page that will help you sort out ALL those posts much faster and easier.

The first thing you will see is 6 drop down menus in the center of the screen. Use these to sort out what you're looking for, food, drink, restaurant, area, activity or time of day. If you are the type of person who likes to see all the choices in a list form, you can scroll down past the drop downs to see everything displayed. If you simply miss the old style, don't worry, it's still there! Just click the big green button "Browse all listings for today", and it will hop you back into the usual Santa Cruz Specials format.

I also made many of the links into attractive buttons, they are on the right of the page for easy navigation. I hope you all like the changes! It takes a long time to do each page, but I plan to work hard and finish up the other pages very soon! I welcome all feedback and constructive criticism, everything helps.
